Jimmy and Katrina Spencer talk to Freevibe

You can never accuse Freevibe of not keeping up with things. Now we're keeping up with things at 180 miles-per-hour. That's right folks, it's racin' season! Freevibe is welcoming two new teens into our pages, Jimmy and Katrina Spencer-and their father just happens to be NASCAR driver Jimmy Spencer .

We wanted to learn more about life behind the scenes and more about them. So Freevibe was able to get a few minutes out of Jimmy and Katrina's busy day as they're getting ready for this year's racing season, do their homework, check in with their Dad, do chores, and even answer our questions…

Freevibe: What's your favorite thing about the races?

Jimmy - Watching the cars.
Katrina - I get to travel a lot and hang out with my friends at the racetrack that I don't see during the week.

FV: What's kept you away from drugs?

J - The thing that has kept me away from drugs is that I want to succeed in life and I just think about what I want out of life.
K - Being with my friends. They keep me occupied with other things.

FV: What's the one thing you don't like about the racing scene?

J - I don't like the injuries that happen.
K - Seeing my dad disappointed if he or his team is not performing to the best of their ability.

FV: What are your Anti-Drugs?

J - My Anti-Drugs are Baseball and Racing.
K - My Anti-Drugs are my friends and God.

FV: How do you keep in touch with your Dad since he's working/traveling so often?

J - I keep in touch with my dad when he is gone by talking to him every day on the phone and when he's home I talk to him a lot.
K - Always talking to him on his phone every day.

FV: What would you say to a friend who was thinking about trying drugs?

J - I would say to a friend that was thinking about trying drugs to ask themselves if they want to ruin their lives.
K - Well, I would ask them if they thought that they needed to do it to have fun or keep them occupied and I would ask them what they normally do with their free time and that would be the better thing to do on their free time.

FV: How do you feel about your Dad racing?

J - I love that my dad races and I think it is awesome and I enjoy just about every bit of it.
K - We get to see new places, meet new people, and that is what my dad loves to do and I support him in that.
